The Long Draft · Chapter 00

A home that remembers you.

Since 1976, Colonial Homes has built custom homes across Indiana and Ohio the way a writer drafts a book — slowly, in conversation, and with the right people in the room.

Preface

This is not a builder's brochure.
It is the story of how your home gets made.

Chapter I The Land · 01

The best homes begin
with a long walk.

Before any line is drawn, we walk your property with you. Views, sun, slope, neighbors, the distance between the back porch and the tree line. Every site has a natural place for the home to sit — the work is finding it.

Chapter II The Design · 02

Your lifestyle, drafted in-house.

Our drafting team turns notes into plans. We eliminate wasted space and the expenses that follow. Our award-winning interior design studio walks every palette, material, and finish with you — so the thousand small decisions become one coherent home.

Chapter III The Build · 03

Craftsmen we've worked with for decades.

The greater Fort Wayne community produced some of the most skilled construction labor in the country. Our long-tenured crews are the reason Colonial's standards don't bend with the budget. Estates, contemporaries, cottages — the standards never change.

Chapter IV The Legacy · 04

We're still there, five years later.

John Hoffman begins with you during the build — and stays on as your follow-up contact after closing. Three generations of Delagranges have treated every home as a long relationship, not a transaction. That's why we're still family-owned after fifty years.

An Intermission

Fifty years of one standard.

From a first cottage to a multi-million-dollar estate, Colonial Homes has applied the same quality and attention to every project. It is why families send us their children, and their children's children.
